The envy of my Italian dinner friend, Veronica's impossibly gorgeous purse. Hers was pink suede and had prickly black side panels and was by far one of the most interesting purses I've ever seen.
A one-of-a-kind made by her Italian purse-making friend, Benedetta Bruzziches in Florence, of course.

And so the challenge was born, and OH what a challenge it has been to create this gem of art! Many hours, fingers coated in Gorilla Glue and cursed feathers. The result is perhaps far from the inspiration, but it fits the title of a Piece of Art.
As always, one can not force the canvas, the canvas will tell you what you can and can not do.
Goodwill Industries, 258 Livingston St, Brooklyn. $9.99
Took a trip out to the Garment District and grabbed some gold chain, studs and feathers at B& Q Trimmings and Pacific Trimmings on 38th St then headed down to 37th St and Mood Fabrics where I met this little fella.
....drum roll please, behold the total make-over!
Can't wait to sport this crazy piece!
